Disability Bears

I made these bears for the Red Cross a few years ago. Each bear has a disability, from missing limbs to blindness or deafness. The kids who were given them thought they were pretty cool. So far, I’ve only found one that had been sent to the Salvation Army after it was no longer useful. And that’s okay by me. I’d rather see the bear go to another family/child than have it thrown out.

These bears are also in my version of Saskatchewan Roughrider uniforms, the provincial football team. No, the logo isn’t accurate, but it’s also copywritten. I did what I could and no one seems to mind.

Once Around the Block?

I managed to get through several balls of yarn to finish this corking/French knitting/spool knitting project. The cat is sitting on it. It’s just a round pad that fits underneath the inside edges of the cat tree perch, more by good luck than good management.

Sakes Alive! They’re Sewing Kits!

These are a few of the sewing kits I’ve been making for my friend, Marilyn. She will fill them with needles, thread, measuring tape, buttons, and all manner of other sewing goodies.
The green one has only just been finished. I’m making up a few more. The blue and yellow one opens up like a business card box. The red one opens up like a matchbook.
