Story Generation
Working Title:

Step 1: Creating characters: Make a list of real people.

Step 2: Fictionalize the Person: Mix and Match character descriptions to create a 'new' person.

Step 3: Create a Problem: It doesn't have to be a major problem, just a challenging one.

Step 4: Create a Complication: What would make the problem harder to solve?

Step 5: Find a Solution: A satisfying solution is one that makes the character work for the ending.

Step 6: Plan the Story.

The Beginning

The Middle
The End

Step 7: Add to the Story Plan:

Where does the story take place? In the city? In the country? Elsewhere?

In what time frame does the story take place? Now? Yesterday ? Several years ago? In the future?

Add to the cast of characters: Choose supporting characters who help move the story along.

Plan Your Plot - What's going to happen?

Step 8: Write the first draft. Decide which voice and tense to use - 1st person (I and me) or 3rd (him or her), now, or before. Write out the story without worrying about length. You can always edit later.
