Storm doesn't say much about his life before he met Herrel and Morgan. From what they can gather, however, is that he is an outcast, even among the Drow. There is a mystery surrounding his parentage that, even if he did know the answers, he probably wouldn't speak of it. He sets great store on privacy. Observant people will notice that Storm is left-handed. This 'wrong-handness', Morgan suspects, is one of the reasons Storm is an outcast among his own people. It also makes him a more difficult opponent to defeat. Most people aren't used to countering a sword coming from the opposite direction as they've been trained to expect it. Although Morgan often accuses him of being "cranky", Storm has a wicked sense of humour. Herrel is his usual willing target, but, on occasion, Storm has been known to make Morgan sigh with a resigned chuckle. The only indication of his amusement he allows is a certain tilt to his head and a waiting stillness to his body. If Storm should happen to smile at you, however, you would be well advised to back away from him, slowly and carefully. Several years ago, Herrel and Morgan saved Storm's life and as a result, he is very protective of them. His protectiveness isn't so much in payment for his life, but his need for their company. Of all the people he has met, only Morgan and Herrel accepted him without reservation. He values their trust in him and would do nothing to violate it. Unlike other elves, Storm claims no talents in the finer arts of music or poetry, nor does he really like magic. He tolerates Morgan's use of it only because it has become an intrinsic part of herself - a self that Storm has grown to admire over the years. She holds a special place in Storm's heart and Herrel is the brother Storm never had. Storm had a difficult time, at first, when Loviath joined the group. Her fascination with all things Elven was obvious. It had taken a little subterfuge, at Morgan's instigation, before Loviath decided that Storm would make a better friend. It was then that he began to teach her how to survive in the wilds, how to use a bow with greater accuracy, how to fight with two weapons and how to survive his sense of humour. Much to his own regret, or so he says, Storm has failed to instill in Loviath, a proper respect for decorum. Once Storm and his friends had taught Loviath everything they could, they left her to continue her training with the Harpers, while they went out to solve another mystery. |
