Siobhan (pronounced 'Shuh-vawn') is approaching middle age and remembers her parents and early life with fondness. When she has the time and a willing student to teach, a goodly number of plants are identified by 'The first time I..." and a usually amusing anecdote about her experiences with that particular plant.

There are some who mistrust her because she is left-handed, but once people have experienced the warmth in her dark eyes and in her smile, the hand she holds a quill in doesn't seem to matter any more. It's not that she's adept at casting some sort of spell, per se, but only that she genuinely cares about people and it shows in her expressive face.

Of average height and slightly overweight, Siobhan spends most of her time wandering around the countryside, trading her healing skills for a bed and a meal or for information on different herbs. In some villages, she is known as "Childfinder". Her excellent tracking skills and ability to converse with both plants and animals makes it virtually impossible for an average child to hide from her. Both she and the children have fun with this game of 'Hide and Seek'.
