Morgan has done many things in her 33 years. As a foundling, she was taken in by a priestess of Diannth and taught healing and herbalist skills. The priestess also taught her to read and write. Morgan stayed until the preistess' death when Morgan was 18. It was then that Morgan began her adventures. While searching for a lost scroll, she and her companions stumbled upon a dragon's lair. Earlier on in the adventure, Morgan had lost her temper with one of the other companions and had deliberately given him misinformation. As a result, four of the six members of the party, Morgan included, were killed in the skirmish with the dragon. Morgan was revived when one of the survivors found a 'Rod of Resurrection'. Among the spoils was a locked chest that was given to Morgan. Each member of the party took with them, several square meters of dragonhide, which Morgan eventually made into simples bags for her healing herbs. Because Morgan had, by her actions, caused the death of others, she was given five years penance. She was to live quietly, outside of any village or town and away from all people, and reflect on her lack of self-control. For the normally gregarious Morgan, this was hard. Without help from anyone else, she managed to build her own house and be reasonably well-fed for a time. Once her penance was done, Morgan found that she preferred the solitude of her home to the bustle of even the smallest village. She remained for several more years. It was during those years that Morgan met Storm and Herrel. In exchange for saving Storm's life, Herrel agreed to try to open the locked chest. Morgan had kept it as a reminder not to lose her temper. Inside the box, much to Morgan's astonishment, was "The Book of Exalted Deeds". After her guests had left, Morgan studied the Book, writing down her thoughts on what it had to say as meticulously as she ever kept her herbal records. Diannth noticed Morgan's work, and after careful consideration, released Morgan from her vows and handed the girl into the care of Oghma, the God of Knowledge. Morgan now had new things to learn. She spent her time gathering her strength and becoming adept at her new powers, with the occasional visits from Storm and Herrel to offset her solitude. On their last visit, they invited Morgan to accompany them. Reluctantly, she agreed. Several days into their journey, Morgan discovered that she was destined to travel whether she willed it or no. One night, leaving the protection of camp behind, she wandered through woods, seeking that which drew her. By the banks of a small stream was a young unicorn, geased by Oghma, to lead Morgan into several adventures to prevent the Balance of Power from being upset. Opal, the name Morgan had given the creature, was contemptuous of having to work with a mere human, and the battles between the two were only overshadowed by the Evil they fought. It was only after restoring the Balance that the two agreed to a truce. While they were never truly friends, they had a measure of respect for each other that transcended mere friendship. Once the geas had been fulfilled, Morgan, Herrel and Storm continued their adventures. It was during this time that Morgan was approached by the Harpers. She turned them down. The three stopped for a short while at Fisher Keep and spending time learning and teaching in the Temple there. It was her first meeting with those who would become "The Chosen of Swordmeet". When she left, a young woman, Loviath, accompanied her. Later, Morgan sponsored Loviath into the Harpers Guild. In payment for that, Morgan agreed to try to find out why Terra Draconius was suddenly involved in both the arms and slave trade, the original mission that the Harpers had wanted her to take. Morgan left quietly, while Loviath was undergoing her initial training with the Harpers, accompanied by Storm and Herrel. With what she learned, Morgan began to take the fight between Good and Evil personally. |
