AD&D Characters

I'm not quite as good a role-player as some people might think. Most of my characters will share my dry sense of humour. Not exactly alike in that respect, but close enough. They pun at the most inappropriate times, some of them, and enjoy the antics of the more boisterous of the other characters. I've been known to play more than one character at a time, you see. Keeps me from getting into too much trouble. *g* Most days.

Let me introduce you to them:

Morgan is a human cleric of middle age. What success she's had has been of her own making. She's an orphan of non-descript parents and is from the poorer classes. She doesn't talk much of her past, but she's known to be predisposed to helping out the underdog for no other reason than she can. Morgan will not kill unless forced to do so.

Storm, now Morgan's mate, is a drow fighter with a healthy respect for Morgan's talents as a healer and as an adventurer. When in the company of others, he tends not to speak too often, but when he does, he's worth listening to. He is a top notch archer and swordsman and skilled in some forms of non-lethal combat. He taught Morgan to use her war hammer and she taught him how to use a staff.

Herrel, a cantankerous gnome at the best of times, loves to complain, especially if he's forced to ride, rather than walk. He is usually found in the company of Storm, but occasionally can be found near Morgan. As a rogue character, his strengths aren't with thieving, but with forgeries. In order for him to differentiate between the original and his work, he deliberately makes one easily-overlooked error.

Surier is a large, self-conscious individual, always thinking that what he does is not unusual and that anyone could do it with a bit of practice. People are leary of him at first meeting because of his deep amber eyes, a gift from Oghma that he might see the Truth more clearly. He doesn't wear a cleric's traditional robes, but rather a kilt, for most occasions and prefers it when he's going into battle.

Loviath is a self-possessed woman who doesn't like the company of strangers. She has good animal handling skills and much prefers to be out in the woods or with her friends than at some of the social functions she's been forced to attend. She's spent some time with Morgan, Storm and Herrel and has learned a great deal from the three of them.

Chryst is a fun-loving roque who likes nothing more than to be the center of attention. Failing that, she'll take five minutes with no one watching at all. She is well-known as a story-teller and has a wicked sense of humour. Her favourite target is Surier. She likes the view and doesn't mind telling him so. Hurt one of her friends, however, and she'll move heaven and earth to exact revenge.

Petramayne, daughter of a Holt Queen, has lead a rather sheltered life, but has taken to adventuring with surprising assurance. Being a forest elf, she hasn't had much contact with them and is a bit lacking in human social graces, but her elven formality has stood them in good stead whenever a diplomat has been needed.

Fred, like Siobhan, is one of my newer characters. One of her greatest delights is to make someone laugh. As an artist, she is unparallelled and can manipulate fine details - and locks - without too much difficulty. She's usually easy going, with a strong gnomish accent and grammar. It's only when she speaks clear, unaccented Common that you need to watch out for her temper.

Siobhan is the hardest character I've had to play yet. She doesn't kill, nor does she permit killing. She will not condone torture or violent persuasive measures, but with her skills as an herbalist, she doesn't need to resort to that to get information. She is, as her father once described, mule-stubborn. She will heal any and all and ask no price. She is a favourite among the poorer classes.

And those, in a small pouch, are my characters. You can read more by clicking the links on the left. If you wish to use one of them as an NPC, give me a shout and we'll see what I can find for character sheets for you.
